WAEA June Book Study Your Brain on Art Book Club up to 12 free clock hours for WAEA members June 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th 4 pm - 5 pm PST Join Zoom Meeting Join WAEA for our June Book Study! Let's meet and make art while discussing Your Brain on Art by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross. Each Wednesday in June... We will respond and connect with the information presented in the book related to the arts' impact on the brain. We will work to understand how the arts impact our cognition, the relationship between art-making, and a new understanding of how and why we appreciate the arts as we look through a neuroscience lens. How does engaging in creating art enrich people's lives? How does making art attune people to their surroundings? How do people contribute to awareness and understanding of their lives and the lives of their communities through art making? Each Week Session includes: 1 hour of reading/study, 1 hour of art-making before the meeting, and 1 hour of collaborative virtual meetings each week to discuss and share discoveries, learning, and art-making practice = up to 12 clock hours Workshop Facilitator: Shannon Brennan, reader and art educator NBCT EAYA ART, WAEA Copresident, 8-9 Art Instructor |
